a. Adjustment method
Step Operation
Remove the by-pass tray.

Remove two screws and detach the bottom

plate assembly.
Change the spring hooking position.
Weak: Double feed is prevented.
Strong: No feed is prevented.
Reference: The spring load changes

about 15 % each time the
spring is hooked in the next
slit.
Install the by-pass tray.

4. LCT spring pressure adjustment

Remove the LCT from the main body.

Weak: Double feed is prevented.
Strong: No feed is prevented.
Reference: The spring load changes

Re-install the LCT.

5. PI spring pressure adjustment

Step
Remove the following parts.
• Top cover
1
• Paper feed roller unit
• Double feed prevention roller
When adjusting the spring pressure for the
lower tray, open the upper unit and detach
the following parts.

• Paper feed roller unit
• Double feed prevention roller
Using flat-nose pliers, change the spring
hooking position through the hole at double
feed prevention roller.
Weak: Double feed is prevented.
Strong: No feed is prevented.
Reference: Normally the spring hooking

Install the parts, following the removal

steps in reverse.
