If the "Telematics" application is enabled and
the modem is not detected on the Controller
Area Network (CAN), the "Telematics" icon
flashes in the status and warning icon area.
The bars are red to indicate that the system
is not functional.
A pop-up message displays: "Modem offline. See Oper-
ator's Manual if problem continues."
Press the "Ignore" button to suppress further warnings
and continue working without using the "Telematics" ap-
plication.
Press the "OK" button to dismiss the message and leave
the fault active.
1. Verify that the setting in the "Telematics CAN Node"
window is correct (see below).
2. Verify that the green Light Emitting Diode (LED) for
power on the modem is steady ON. If the LED is blink-
ing, the modem firmware is updating. Do not interrupt
this process.
3. If the LED is steady ON, cycle power to the system.
4. If the problem persists, check the CAN connection to
the modem.
Depending on your vehicle type and modem, up to
four additional windows display when you enable the
"Telematics" application:
• "Telematics CAN Node"
• "File Transfer Enabled" ( AM53 modem only)
• "Fuel Tank Size" (tractors only)
• "Fuel Theft Delta"
