Preventive Maintenance Schedule

Permanent records of all test results for alarm systems should be made at the
time of installation and at all required intervals as specified by NFPA 99 (see
table 6-1 on page 6–31).

Check the readings on the area alarm module digital dis-
plays daily.
Test once a month by pressing the test keys on each
front panel (see "Master Alarm Self-Test" on page 2-5),
(see "Area Alarm Self-Test" on page 2-6), and (see
"Local Alarm Self-Test" on page 2-6).
Test once a month by pressing the test keys on each
front panel (see "Master Alarm Self-Test" on page 2-5),
(see "Area Alarm Self-Test" on page 2-6), and (see
"Local Alarm Self-Test" on page 2-6).
Inspect once a month (see "Transducer" on page 2-11).
Check every alarm component for wear.
Inspect all wiring for good condition.
Check all electrical connections for tightness, and tight-
en as needed.
Inspect hoses for cracking, wear, collapse, or leakage
annually.
Check cleanliness. Clean if necessary, see "Cleaning" on
page 6-28.
