Master Alarm and Area Alarm Front Panels (not Including
Area Alarm Modules)
Tools required:
The front panels of the Master Alarm and Area Alarm are very similar. This pro-
cedure explains what is involved with replacing just the front panel.

Removal

1. To replace the Master Alarm Module, go to procedure 4.2 on page 4–10.
2. To replace an Area Alarm module, go to procedure 4.9 on page 4–26.
3. To replace an Area Alarm Connector P.C. Board or Network Communications
Board, go to procedure 4.8 on page 4–24.
4. Unlock the front panel (A) (see figure 4-1 on page 4–7) or (see figure 4-2 on
page 4–8):
Turn off the power supply in the alarm, and leave it off during the installa-
tion or replacement of any component or sub-assembly. Failure to do so
could result in personal injury or equipment damage.
5. Turn the power switch (F) to the OFF position.
6. Push open the ears (E) of the connectors to remove the ribbon cables (B).
7. Remove the four screws (C) that secure the front panel (A) to the rough-in
assembly (D).
8. If there is an Ethernet cable connected, unplug it.
9. Remove the front panel (A).

If removing a front panel from a MedPlus TotalAlert® Alarm Network
