2.34 Intermittent Browsing

1. The Master Alarm can only be browsed intermittently.

2. Ensure that the Ethernet connections are properly connected on all of the
alarm devices (refer to procedure 4.25 on page 4-68). They are properly con-
nected.

3. Check the LEDs on the Master Alarm Modules and the Area Alarm Network
Communications Boards. See "Master Alarm Power-Up" on page 1-60. Also
see "Area Alarm Power-Up" on page 1-112. The LEDs that indicate whether
the alarms are communicating are flashing very rapidly.

4. Have your facility's Information Systems personnel check the ARP traffic of
the facility's network. Heavy broadcast traffic can interfere with timely Web
service and data exchange between the Master Alarms and Area Alarm
Network Communications Boards. The broadcast traffic is heavy.

5. If there is excessive broadcast traffic, it usually means that there is a piece of
equipment on the facility's network that is not operating properly. The facili-
ty's Information Systems personnel will have to eliminate some of the traffic
flow, by fixing their other equipment. The browsing works correctly after the
Information Systems personnel fix their other equipment.
