Local-Mount Transducer and DISS Demand Flow Valve Assembly for the Conversion Kit Housed in the
Area Line Pressure Alarm (0321) Rough-In Box
Chapter 4: Removal, Replacement, and Adjustment Procedures
10. Disconnect and remove the DISS demand flow valve (B) from the female fit-
ting (Q) in the rough-in box (K).

Replacement

Ensure that the correct type of transducer and DISS demand flow valve is
installed for the type of gas or vacuum being monitored. If incorrect com-
ponents are installed, patient welfare may be at risk.
1. Ensure that the new gas-specific transducer (A) and DISS demand flow valve
(B) are the correct gas or vacuum type.
2. To prevent gas leaks, wrap Teflon® tape two times around the pipe threads of
the DISS demand flow valve (B).
3. Thread the DISS demand flow valve (B) into the female fitting (Q) inside the
rough-in box (K).
Do not overtighten the diameter index safety system (DISS) fittings.
Equipment damage or inadequate flow could occur.
4. Tighten the DISS demand flow valve (B) until you feel resistance, then turn
the DISS demand flow valve (B) two more full turns.
5. Install the DISS nut (P) securing the transducer (A) to the DISS demand flow
valve (B).
6. Being careful not to damage the DISS fittings, securely tighten the DISS nut
(P).
7. Connect the green wire (or shield wire) (L) to the appropriate position on the
terminal block (M) inside the transducer (A).
8. Connect the red and black wires (O) to the terminal block (M).
NOTE:
Polarity does not need to be observed for the red and black wires.
9. Tighten the screws (N) securing the wires (L and O) to the terminal
block (M).
10. If the power supply assembly (C) did not need to be removed, go to
step 11. Otherwise, do the following:
