If the library has two DC power supplies, one supply powers the library during
normal operation. If a fault is detected, the second DC power supply assumes
control, and the library posts the error to the FSC log.

Uninterruptible Power Supply

An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is an optional feature available from
APC. The UPS is designed to help prevent blackouts, brownouts, sags, and
surges in power. The UPS also helps filter out small disturbances and
fluctuations in power until the voltage stabilizes.

The optional UPS feature supplies power to the library and all other equipment
connected to the power strip. If the library has this feature, follow the
instructions in the conversion bill to connect the UPS to the customer's power
supply and library components to the power strip.
