Testing the Subsystem

Before placing the library online, you should run diagnostic tests. StorageTek
suggests running two diagnostic tests from the library's operator panel: Get-Put
and the Mount-Dismount Loop.
You also may run diagnostic tests from a laptop computer connected to either
the SER1 port or CSE port on the electronics module. The laptop baud setting
for the SER1 port is 38400 and for the CSE port 9600 (initially).

The Get-Put loop diagnostic test validates cell-to-cell move capabilities by using
a diagnostic cartridge and the swap cell. The robot:
• Retrieves (gets) the diagnostic tape from its storage cell
• Moves the hand and cartridge laterally and vertically
• Places (puts) the cartridge back into its reserved cell
To run the Get-Put diagnostic test:
