Installing the Library
This chapter contains the procedures for preparing the L180 Tape Library
location, unpacking and positioning the library, removing the shipping
hardware, changing operating options, and connecting a laptop computer.

Tools

The following tools are necessary to install the library and tape drives:
• 3/4-inch wrench (STK tool crib PN WR08) or adjustable wrench* (STK tool
crib PN WR11)
• Phillips screwdriver*
• Torx set*
• 3/16-inch nut driver*
• 5/16-inch nut driver*
• Diagonal cutters or knife*
• Laptop personal computer

• Key to the library's front door (PN 310293301) from the library's shipping kit
* These tools are part of the tool kit (StorageTek PN 4019). Nut drivers can be
built with the included socket set.
Note: StorageTek also recommends that you use an ESD grounding kit
