Reporting SCSI Drive Information

Before you configure a drive, take note of its SCSI system address and whether
it is "on bus" or "off bus." Record this information in
The first column in the table lists the logical drive number assigned to each
drive. The library assigns this number during an IPL. The uppermost drive
within the drive column is designated as "0," the next is "1," and so forth.
Note: These drive numbers are only for the library-to-drive communication.

SCSI ID

You must set a SCSI identifier for each drive installed in the library.

On Bus or Off Bus

This entry indicates whether the drive is on the same interface path (on bus) as
the library or on a separate bus (off bus).
