Drive Connection

Before you install the Fibre Channel tape drives in the L180 library, make sure
that the library has a perforated drive access door instead of vertical louvers.
L180 libraries that require this replacement door have these serial numbers:
0 to 18, 300 to 324, and 5000 to 5020.
If the library requires the perforated access door, order FB 62296 to replace it.

Drive Cable Strain Reliefs

The library shipping kit includes two strain reliefs for fiber-optic cables.
Install these strain reliefs and wrap the excess fiber-optic cables around them:
1. Remove the strain relief and its 10-32 thumbscrew from the shipping kit.
2. Align the center hole in the strain relief with one of the standoffs on the
side of the drive column.
3. Insert the thumbscrew into the center hole in the strain relief.
4. Tighten the thumbscrew until the strain relief is securely in place.
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for the other strain reliefs.
