Interface Connections

The library and tape drives support the following interface connections:
• The library operates as:

• DLT 7000, DLT 8000, or Super DLT drives (HVD SCSI only)
• LTO Ultrium drives (LVD SCSI, HVD SCSI, or Fibre Channel)
• T9840 drives (HVD SCSI, Fibre Channel, or ESCON)
• T9x40 drives (HVD SCSI or Fibre Channel) (9940 requires feature 99DR, the
extended door)
CAUTION:
Possible component or system damage: For operation with LTO drives,
the library's robotic hand must have the High Extra Force Hand
assembly, conversion bill number 101376.

Host Bus Adapter Requirements

CAUTION:
Mismatching SCSI operation types: The host bus adapter (HBA) in the
customer's server must match the library's SCSI bus type. If the
interface to the library is HVD, then the customer's server must contain
an HVD-compatible HBA. Likewise, if the interface to the library is LVD,
then the server must contain an LVD-compatible HBA.
The server the SCSI bus attaches must have a compatible HBA. If the interface
to the library is HVD, the customer's server must contain an HVD-compatible
HBA. Likewise, if the interface to the library is LVD, then the server must
contain an LVD-compatible HBA.
