9. Replace the drive tray cover.
CAUTION:
Configuration problem: Do not change any jumpers except for
terminating power. The drive's SCSI address will be set at the library
operator panel.
Connector damage: Check the library drive connector and make sure it
is not stuck in a locked position from the vibration during shipping. This
connector provides power and library interface to the drive.
Potential bus error: Do not connect the customer's SCSI bus cable to the
library or to the drive bulkhead until after you have configured the library
and the drives.
10. Look inside the drive column area and determine which slot to use for the
drive. See
11. Firmly grasp the drive at the rear with one hand and place the other hand
under the drive tray.
12. Carefully guide the drive into its slot. Push it in as far as it will go and firmly
seat the drive.
13. Turn the thumbscrew clockwise until it is secure, do not overtighten the
thumbscrew
14. Connect the single end of the Y-cable to the SCSI connector on the rear of
the drive.
15. Make sure to label the bulkhead with the appropriate SCSI icon.
16. Place the drive's power switch to the ON (|) position.
17. Install any other drives.
CAUTION:
Potential equipment damage: LTO drives now support a Fibre Channel
interface (such as the IBM LTO drive). Make sure the cable clamp is
installed on the fiber-optic cable to prevent it from breaking when you
close the drive access door.
