CAUTION:
Controller card damage: The location of the command line interface
(CLI) port has changed with edition 3.00 and later firmware. It is now
designated as the CSE port (J30) on the MPC/MPCL card.
There are four methods you can use to download firmware.
1. Write Buffer command: Directions for this method can found on the
Customer Resource Center (CRC) Web site:
• Log-in to the CRC
• Select Product Information
• Select Current Products
• Choose a Product Family
• Select Tape and Tape Automation and click Next
• Scroll to Tape Libraries
• Select L180 Tape Library
• Select the L700/180 Tape Libraries Interface Reference Manual
• Refer to the information in the Write Buffer command (3Bh)
2. SCSI toolbox: Consult the SCSI Toolbox manual on the CRC for directions:
• Log-in to the CRC
• Select CRC Tools
• Select CS Tools
• Select the SCSI/FIBRE Toolbox User's Guide
• Search for Firmware Download instructions
3. StorageTek L-Series Library Admin: Refer to the CRC for information
about this feature:
• Log-in to the CRC
• Select Product Information
• Select Current Products
• Choose a Product Family
• Select Software and click Next
• Scroll to and click on StorageTek L-Series Library Admin.
4. Command line interface (CLI) ports: Starting with microcode edition
2.20, there are two CLI port methods:
• DOS method
• HyperTerminal method
