Connecting the SCSI Interface

LVD Cables

If the control path from the library is LVD SCSI, then you must install an MPW
card. The instructions for the card and connecting the SCSI cable are included.
The supported universal SCSI cables (LVD or HVD) are listed in

Table 7-5. Universal 68-Pin MD to 68-Pin MD

Connecting the SCSI Library

Library SCSI connections depend on length requirements, the position of the
server in relation to the library, and the type of interface required (single-ended
or differential).
The library control cable connects to the library through one of the two
connectors near the power bulkhead (see

To connect the control cable:
1. Install the cable from the server to the connectors near the power bulkhead.
(Route the cable up through the cable access hole in the floor tile at the rear
of the library, and pass it over the power switches.)
2. Connect the SCSI cable to one of the two connectors.
