Preparing T9840 Drives

Mounting a Cartridge to an LTO Drive

To mount a cartridge to an LTO drive:
1. Locate a cartridge.
2. Insert the cartridge into the LTO drive using the direction shown in
Figure 6-5 on page
3. Wait for the indicator on the front panel of the drive to stop blinking.

Dismounting a Cartridge from an LTO Drive

To dismount a cartridge from an LTO drive:
4. Press the dismount button on the front panel of the drive.
Note: Do not hold down the button.
One of the following conditions can occur:
• After the tape rewinds, the cartridge ejects from the LTO drive.
• The cartridge fails to eject after the tape rewinds. Refer to the drive
5. Gently pull the cartridge out from the drive.
