Library SCSI ID
You must enter a SCSI identifier (ID) for the library; drive IDs appear on a
different screen.
Notes: When configuring the SCSI ID:
1. For a UNIX workstation, StorageTek recommends that you use a dedicated
SCSI bus adapter:
-
-
2. If you choose to use the embedded system bus on the SPARC station, you
should select IDs 6, 5, 2, or 0 for the library because the remaining targets
are reserved for other Sun peripherals.
3. For IBM RISC System/6000 machines, available IDs on the system bus are 6,
5, 3, and 2.
4. If the customer is using Automated Cartridge System Library Software
(ACSLS), its level must be Version 5.3.2 or higher.
Library SCSI Type
The SCSI type is the level of the SCSI interface to the library and includes the
low voltage differential (LVD) or high voltage differential (HVD).
This value is automatically configured during IPL.
95896
For wide adapters, you may assign identifiers from 0-14 for the library.
For narrow adapters, the range of identifiers is 0-6.
