Connecting the Ethernet Interface

Connecting the Ethernet Interface

If your installation requires an Ethernet connection, perform these steps:
1. Make sure that the library power switches are in the OFF (down) position.
2. Route the Ethernet cable up through the cable access hole in the library
floor near the power bulkhead.
3. Connect the Ethernet cable to the
bulkhead. (See

Matrix Switch

If you are installing a maintenance switch in the rack area for the T9840 Tape
Drives, you need to install ferrite beads on the Ethernet cables at the switch and
at each drive. This switch uses Matrix to emulate the operator panels of the
T9840B drive.
Refer to the tape drive installation manual for instructions to install the switch
and ferrite beads.
