7. Check the rear of the IBM or the Seagate LTO drive for the terminating
power jumper selections.
Note: You cannot disable terminating power on the HP LTO drive.
To find the jumpers:
a. Remove three top screws and two side screws with a Torx T-15 bit from
b. Remove the cover.
c. Examine the area next to the power connection on the rear of the drive.

address jumpers that must be in place for library operation. Terminating power is the fifth jumper -
counting from right to left)
Note: HP drive not shown. Terminating power is always ON and can not be changed.
CAUTION:
Loss of data or degradation of performance: StorageTek recommends
that the devices at both ends of the bus supply terminating power.
Industry standards advise that no more than three devices provide
terminating power to the bus.
8. Verify whether TERMPWR for the drive is on or off (enabled or disabled) for
each IBM LTO drive and Seagate LTO drive. If necessary, move the jumper
to match the customer's requirement. Then replace the drive tray cover.
• TERMPWR On: Install the jumper on the pins as shown.
• TERMPWR Off: Remove the jumper from the pins shown.
