Installing DLT Drives

The L180 library supports the following DLT drives:
• DLT 7000
• DLT 8000
• Super DLT (SDLT) 220 or 320
CAUTION:
Possible data loss: StorageTek does not advise mixing DLT 7000E and
DLT 8000 drives in the same library. If a DLT 7000E cartridge is inserted
into a DLT 8000 drive, the tape can be read but not written on. If a
DLT 8000 cartridge is inserted into a DLT 7000E drive, the drive detects
the tape as blank and will write over the information.
Make sure that the labels match the drive type and interface required.
