Locating Reserved Cells

CAUTION:
Swap cell: Do not place any cartridges into the top cell. This is the swap
cell and it is reserved for in-transit cartridges.
The swap has two functions:
• It allows the robot to swap tapes within the library.
• It is used as a temporary holding place if the library loses power and the
The cells below the swap cell are reserved for cleaning and/or diagnostic
cartridges. You may place any type of cleaning or diagnostic cartridge into any
of these other reserved cells.
To insert diagnostic and cleaning cartridges into the library manually:
1. Open the front door of the library by unlocking the top and bottom latches.
2. Make sure that the swap cell (top-most reserved cell) is empty.
3. Place the cleaning and diagnostic cartridges into any of the other five cells.
