6.7.3 Battery replacement
POINT
1. Use the battery within the time shown by the guaranteed value of the battery
life.
2. If the battery may be used exceeding the time shown by the guaranteed
battery life value, perform the following.
• Perform the shutdown operation when powering off or resetting the C
Controller module. (
• Back up data so that data can be protected even if the battery goes flat at
power-off or during reset of the C Controller module.
3. The battery life is five years if the battery has not been installed in the C
Controller module.
4. If a battery error occurs, replace the battery as soon as possible although the
data are retained within "Guaranteed time after battery error occurrence"
shown in Table 6.17.
Periodic replacement is recommended according to the condition of use even
if no battery error is detected.
When "Battery check" is selected in the Error check area in the <<System settings>>
tab of C Controller setting utility, the C Controller module detects an error and adds a
log to the event history at the following timing.
• When power is turned on
• When the C Controller module is reset
• Periodic check (by the system)
Note that, if a battery error is detected again after another battery error, no battery
error will be detected and no log will be added to the event history until power is
reapplied or the C Controller module is reset.
