Multiple CPU Synchronized Boot-Up

The multiple CPU synchronized boot-up function allows synchronized start-up of CPU
modules No.1 to No.4.
Since start-up of each CPU can be monitored, an interlock program for checking start-up
of another CPU before access is no more required.
Note that, however, the speed of system start-up may slow down because it depends on
the slowest CPU module.

13.9 Multiple CPU Synchronized Boot-Up
POINT
1. The multiple CPU synchronized boot-up function enables access to each
CPU module in a multiple CPU system without using an interlock.
This does not mean that the CPU modules start their operations at the same
time after start-up.
2. The multiple CPU synchronized boot-up is available for the following CPU
modules:
• Universal model QCPU (except the Q00UCPU, Q01UCPU, and
Q02UCPU)
• Motion CPU (the Q172DCPU and Q173DCPU)
• Q12DCCPU-V
• Q24DHCCPU-V/-LS
In the Multiple CPU settings tab of C Controller setting utility, check the boxes for any
target CPUs (CPU 1 to CPU 4).
In the Multiple CPU synchronous startup setting area, all boxes for CPU No.1 to No.4
are checked by default. (The multiple CPU synchronized boot-up is enabled.)
To disable this function, clear the corresponding check boxes.
Figure 13.36 Multiple CPU synchronized boot-up setting
Set the same multiple CPU synchronized boot-up setting for each of all CPU modules
comprising the multiple CPU system.
Otherwise, a parameter error (error code: 3015, PARAMETER ERROR) will be
detected.
