Engine Oil Replacement; Engine Oil Filter Replacement - Honda ACCORD HYBRID 2005 Service Manual

E n g i n e O i l R e p l a c e m e n t
1. W a r m up the engine.
2. Remove the drain bolt (A), and drain the engine oil.

(4.0 k g f m , 29 Ibf-ft)
Do not o v e r t i g h t e n .
3. Reinstall the drain bolt w i t h a new washer (B).
4. Refill w i t h the r e c o m m e n d e d oil (see page 3-2).
Capacity
At Oil Change:
4.0 L (4.2 U S qt)
At Oil Change including Filter:
4.3 L (4.5 U S qt)
After Engine Overhaul:
5.0 L (5.3 U S qt)
5. Run the engine for more than 3 minutes, then check
for oil leakage.

Special Tools Required
Oil filter w r e n c h 07HAA-PJ70101
1. Remove the oil filter w i t h the oil filter w r e n c h .
2. Inspect the filter to make sure the oil filter gasket is
not stuck to the oil filter seating surface of the
engine.
3. Inspect the threads (A) and oil filter gasket (B) on
the n e w oil filter. Clean the seat on the engine block,
then apply a light coat of new engine oil to the oil
filter gasket. Use only filters w i t h a built-in bypass
system.
