DataBar Expanded Length 2

Product Reference Guide

Length 2 is the maximum label length if in variable length mode, or

the second fixed length if in fixed length mode (see DataBar

Expanded Length Control on page 355

code's check and data characters.

To set this feature:

1. Scan the SWITCH bar code.

2. Scan the bar code, SET DataBar Expanded LENGTH 2 on page

357 below. You'll need to cover any unused bar codes on this

and the facing page to ensure that the scanner reads only the

bar code you intend to scan.

3. Scan the appropriate digits from the keypad in Appendix C

that represent the desired label length. A setting of 000 will

ignore this length (only one fixed length), otherwise, the

selectable range for this option is 001 to 074. Pad all single

and double digit numbers with leading zeroes to yield a three-

digit entry (001-074).

4. Complete the programming sequence by scanning the SWITCH
