BGP Configuration Command Set
bgp default local-preference <metric>
Use the bgp default local-preference command to change the local preference for all BGP routes. The
local preference is an attribute (LOCAL_PREF) that indicates a degree of preference for a route relative to
other routes in the local autonomous system (AS). BGP4 neighbors can send the local preference value as
an attribute of a route in an UPDATE message. Local preference only applies to routes within the local AS.
Use the no form of this command to return to the default setting.
Syntax Description
<metric>
Specifies the new local preference. Valid range is 0 to 4,294,967,295.
Default Values
The default local preference is 100.
Usage Examples
The following example changes the default local preference to 200:
ProCurve(config)#router bgp 65000
ProCurve(config)#bgp local-preference 200
