Symptom
Lubricant Oil
Consumption Is
Excessive
Fuel Is Mixed into
Lubricant Oil
Water Is Mixed into
Lubricant Oil
Oil Pressure Is Low
Oil Pressure Is High
Engine Is Overheated
Probable Cause and
Checking Procedure
1. Piston ring's gap faces the
same direction.
2. Oil ring is worn or stuck.
3. Piston ring groove is worn
out.
4. Valve stem and valve
guide is worn out.
5. Crankshaft bearing and
crank pin bearing is worn
out.
1. Injection nozzle stuck or
clogged.
2. Engine oil is diluted due to
regeneration.
1. Head gasket is damaged.
2. Cylinder (crankcase) or
cylinder head is flawed.
1. Engine oil is insufficient.
2. Oil strainer is clogged.
3. Relief valve is stuck with
dirt.
4. Oil clearance of moving
parts is excessive.
5. Oil passage is clogged.
6. Different type of oil is used. Use specified type of oil.
7. Oil pump is damaged.
1. Different type of oil is used. Use specified type of oil.
2. Relief valve is damaged.
1. Engine oil is insufficient.
2. Fan belt is broken or
elongated.
3. Coolant is insufficient.
4. Radiator net and radiator
fin is clogged with dust.
5. Inside of radiator is
corroded.
6. Coolant flow route is
corroded.
7. Radiator or radiator cap is
damaged.
8. Engine is running under
overload condition.
9. Cylinder head gasket is
damaged.
10.Unsuitable fuel is used.
Solution
Shift ring gap direction.
Replace oil ring.
Replace piston and piston ring.
Replace valve stem and valve guide.
Replace crankshaft bearing and crank
pin bearing.
Replace or replace injection nozzle.
Change engine oil.
Replace head gasket.
Replace cylinder (crankcase) or cylinder
head.
Fill engine oil.
Clean oil strainer.
Clean relief valve.
Replace moving parts.
Clean oil passage.
Replace oil pump.
Repair or replace relief valve.
Fill engine oil to proper level.
Change or adjust fan belt.
Fill coolant.
Clean radiator net and radiator fin.
Clean inside of radiator or replace
radiator.
Clean coolant flow route.
Replace radiator or radiator cap.
Reduce the load.
Replace cylinder head gasket.
Use specified fuel.
