Battery Discharges
Too Quickly
Probable Cause and
Checking Procedure
1. Battery is discharged or
damaged.
2. Battery positive cable
disconnected or
improperly is connected.
3. Battery negative cable is
disconnected or
improperly connected.
4. Slow blow fuse is blown.
1. Wiring harness is
short-circuited.
Probable Cause and
Checking Procedure
1. Battery is damaged.
2. Alternator is damaged.
3. Wiring harness is
disconnected or
improperly connected
(between battery positive
terminal and alternator B
terminal).
4. Cooling fan belt is slipping. Adjust fan belt tension or replace the fan
Solution
Recharge or replace battery.
Connect the battery positive cable
properly.
Connect the battery negative cable
properly.
Replace slow blow fuse.
Repair or replace wiring harness.
Solution
Recharge or replace battery.
Repair or replace alternator.
Repair or replace wiring harness
between battery positive terminal and
alternator B terminal.
belt immediately.
