Symptom
Uneven Braking
Force
Brake Drags
Poor Braking Force
Probable Cause and
Checking Procedure
1. Brake pedal free travel is
unevenly adjusted.
2. Brake disc is worn.
3. Cam plate is warped.
1. Little free travel in brakes.
2. Little free play in parking
brake lever.
3. Ball holes of cam plate is
unevenly worn.
4. Brake pedal return spring
is weaken or broken.
5. Brake cam is rusted.
1. Brake pedal free travel is
too much.
2. Brake disc is worn.
3. Cam plate is warped.
4. Brake cam or lever is
damaged.
5. Improper type of
transmission fluid is used.
Solution
Adjust brake pedal free travel.
Replace brake disc.
Replace cam plate.
Adjust brake pedal free travel to factory
specification.
Adjust parking brake lever free play to
factory specification.
Replace cam plate.
Replace brake pedal return spring.
Remove rust from brake cam or replace
brake cam with a new one.
Adjust brake pedal free travel to the
factory specification.
Replace brake disc.
Replace cam plate.
Replace brake cam or lever.
Use the proper type of transmission fluid.
