Symptom
Engine Does Not
Start
Probable Cause and
Checking Procedure
1. Fuel tank is empty.
2. Fuel filter is clogged.
3. Air is in the fuel system.
4. Fuel pipe or fuel hose is
clogged.
5. Water is in the fuel system. Change fuel and repair or replace fuel
6. Injection nozzle is stuck or
clogged.
7. Fuel is leaking due to
loose injection pipe
retaining nut.
8. Fuel with low cetane
number is used.
9. Excessively high viscosity
of fuel or engine oil is used
at low temperature.
10.Injection pump is
damaged.
11.Compression is leaking
from cylinder.
12.Piston ring and cylinder is
worn out.
13.Fuel cam shaft is worn out. Replace fuel camshaft.
14.Crankshaft, camshaft,
piston or bearing is seized.
15.Valve timing is improper.
16.Incorrect injection timing.
Solution
Fill fuel to fuel tank.
Replace fuel filter.
Bleed air.
Clean or replace fuel pipe or fuel hose.

Replace or repair injection nozzle
Tighten retaining nut.
Use specified fuel
Use specified fuel or engine oil.
Replace or repair injection pump.
Replace head gasket, tighten cylinder
head bolt, glow plug and nozzle holder.
Replace piston ring and cylinder.
Repair or replace crankshaft, camshaft,
piston or bearing.
Correct valve timing
Adjust injection timing
