Probable Cause and
Checking Procedure
1. Transmission fluid is
insufficient.
2. Gear is worn or backlash is
improper.
3. Bearings are worn or
damaged.
4. Shift fork is worn.
5. Backlash between spiral
bevel pinion and spiral
bevel gear is improper.
6. Backlash between
differential pinion and
differential side gear is
improper.
7. Bi-speed turn clutch is
damaged.
8. PTO clutch is damaged.
2. Shifter or shift fork is worn
or damaged.
3. Gears are worn or
damaged.
1. Differential lock shift fork is
damaged.
2. Differential lock shift fork
mounting spring pin is
damaged.
3. Differential lock shifter pin
is bent or damaged.
4. Differential lock fork shaft
is bent or damaged.
1. Differential lock pedal
return spring is weaken or
damaged.
2. Differential lock shifter pin
is bent or damaged.
3. Differential lock fork shaft
is bent.
Solution
Fill transmission fluid.
Replace gear and adjust backlash to the
factory specification.
Replace bearings.
Replace shift fork.
Adjust backlash between spiral bevel
pinion and spiral bevel gear.
Adjust backlash between differential
pinion and differential side gear.
Replace or repair bi-speed turn clutch.
Replace or repair PTO clutch.
Repair shift linkages.
Replace shifter or shift fork.
Replace gears.
Replace differential lock shift fork.
Replace differential lock shift fork
mounting spring pin.
Replace differential lock shifter pin.
Replace differential lock fork shaft.
Replace differential lock pedal return
spring.
Replace differential lock shifter pin.
Replace differential lock fork shaft.
