1. TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom
Front Wheels Wander
to Right or Left
Front Wheels Can
Not Be Driven
Noise Occurs
Probable Cause and
Checking Procedure
1. Tire pressure is uneven.
2. Toe-in is improper.
3. Clearance between front
axle case boss and front
axle bracket (front, rear)
bushing is excessive.
4. Front axle rocking force is
too small.
5. Tie-rod end is loose.
1. Propeller shaft is
damaged.
2. Front differential gear is
damaged.
3. Shift fork is damaged.
1. Gear backlash is
excessive.
2. Front axle case oil is
insufficient.
3. Bearings are damaged.
4. Gears are damaged.
5. Spiral bevel pinion shaft
turning force is improper.
Solution
Adjust tire pressure.
Adjust toe-in.
Replace front axle case boss and front
axle bracket (front, rear) bushing.
Adjust front axle rocking force.
Tighten tie-rod end.
Replace the propeller shaft.
Replace the front differential gear.
Replace the shift fork.
Adjust the gear backlash or replace the
gears.
Fill front axle case oil to the proper level.
Replace bearings.
Replace gears.
Adjust spiral bevel pinion shaft turning
force.
