1. TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom
Clutch Drags
Clutch Slips
Chattering
Rattle During
Running
Clutch Squeaks

Probable Cause and
Checking Procedure
1. Clutch pedal free travel is
too much.
2. Dusts generated from the
clutch disc facing are
attached on the clutch
disc.
3. Release fork is damaged.
4. Clutch disc or pressure
plate is warped.
1. Clutch disc is worn
excessively.
2. Grease or oil is attached
on clutch disc facing.
3. Clutch disc or pressure
plate is warped.
4. Diaphragm spring is
weaken or broken.
1. Grease or oil is attached
on clutch disc facing.
2. Clutch disc or pressure
plate is warped.
3. Clutch disc spline boss is
worn or rusted.
4. Pressure plate or flywheel
face is cracked or scored.
5. Clutch disc spline boss
and main shaft spline is
worn.
6. Diaphragm spring strength
uneven or diaphragm
spring is damaged.
1. Clutch disc spline boss is
worn.
2. Replace release bearing is
worn or sticking.
1. Replace release bearing is
sticking or dry.
2. Clutch disc is worn
excessively.
1. Clutch disc rivet is worn or
damaged.
2. Clutch parts are damaged. Replace clutch disc and pressure plate.
Solution
Adjust the clutch pedal free travel to the
factory specification.
Clean the dusts on the clutch disc and
adjust the clutch pedal free travel to the
factory specification.
Replace the release fork.
Make sure and replace the clutch disc
and pressure plate.
Replace the clutch disc.
Replace clutch disc with a new one.
Make sure the clutch disc and the
pressure plate with a new one.
Replace pressure plate assembly.
Replace clutch disc assembly.
Replace clutch disc or pressure plate as
an assembly.
Replace clutch disc assembly or remove
rust.
Replace pressure plate assembly or
flywheel.
Replace clutch disc assembly or main
shaft.
Replace pressure plate assembly with a
new one.
Replace clutch disc.
Replace release bearing.
Replace release bearing.
Replace clutch disc.
Replace clutch disc.
