COMMUNICATION
*NO RESPONSE FROM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER —
TEST
7 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C1 harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the Instrument Cluster Wake
Up Sense circuit.
Is the test light illuminated?
Yes → Repair the Instrument Cluster Wake Up Sense circuit for a short
→ Replace the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the service
No
8 Turn the ignition off.
Reconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C1 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Instrument Cluster Wake Up Sense
circuit at the Instrument Cluster C1 connector.
Open and close a door. This is done to ensure the BCM is awake.
Is the resistance below 50.0 ohms?
Yes → Replace the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the service
→ Replace the Body Control Module in accordance with the service
No
9 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C1 harness connector.
Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Instrument Cluster Wake Up Sense circuit between the
BCM C4 connector and the Instrument Cluster C1 connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Replace the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the service
→ Repair the Instrument Cluster Wake Up Sense circuit for an open.
No
