Passenger Door Unlatch Inoperative - Dodge ZB 2005 Service Manual

Symptom:

*PASSENGER DOOR UNLATCH INOPERATIVE

DTC PRESENT
LATCH MOTOR
PASSENGER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
PASSENGER DOOR UNLATCH RETURN CIRCUIT OPEN
BODY CONTROL MODULE - LATCH DRIVER OPEN
TEST
1 With the DRBIII , read DTC's.
Does the DRBIII display any Door Lock related trouble codes?
Yes → Refer to symptom list for problems related to POWER DOOR
→ Go To 2
No
2 Disconnect the Latch Motor connector.
Connect a 12-volt test light between the Passenger Door Unlatch Driver circuit and
the Passenger Door Unlatch Return circuit.
With the DRBIII , actuate the UNLATCH PASS DOOR and then actuate RETURN
LATCH.
Did the test light illuminate brightly when the door was actuated?
Yes → Replace the Latch Motor.
→ Go To 3
No
3 Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 connector.
Disconnect the Latch Motor connector.
Measure the resistance of the Passenger Door Unlatch Driver circuit between the
BCM C2 connector and the Latch Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the Passenger Door Unlatch Driver circuit for an open.
No
4 Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 connector.
Disconnect the Latch Motor connector.
Measure the resistance of the Passenger Door Unlatch Return circuit between the
BCM C2 connector and the Latch Motor connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 5
→ Repair the Passenger Door Unlatch Return circuit for an open.
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
LOCKS/RKE.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
