STARTING
Symptom:
*NO RESPONSE FROM PCM WITH A NO START CONDITION
(A14) PCM FUSED B+ CIRCUIT
(F202) PCM FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT CIRCUITS
(Z12) PCM GROUND CIRCUITS
TP SENSOR
(K7) 5-VOLT SENSOR OPEN/SHORTED
(K7) 5-VOLT SUPPLY CKT SHORT TO GROUND
(F888) 5-VOLT CIRCUIT SUPPLY SHORTED TO GROUND
PCM
TEST

NOTE: The DRBIII and cable must be operating properly for the results of
this test to be valid.
NOTE: Ensure the ignition switch was on while trying to communicate with
the PCM.
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connectors.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the (A14) PCM Fused B+ circuit
in the PCM harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes → Go To 2
→ Repair the open or short to ground in the (A14) Fused B+ circuit.
No

Ignition on, engine not running.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the (F202) PCM Fused Ignition
Switch Output circuit in the PCM harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Repair the open or short to ground in the (F202) Ignition Switch
No

Turn the ignition off.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to battery voltage, probe the (Z12) PCM Ground
circuits in the PCM harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the open in the (Z12) PCM ground circuits.
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Inspect and replace fuses as necessary.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1.
Output circuit. Inspect and replace fuses as necessary.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1.
