Verification Tests —
1. If the PCM has been replaced, the theft alarm will arm, but the engine run disable function
will not stop the engine from running. The engine will have to be started and ran above 400
RPM, 20 times to enable this feature. This is available on the DRB.
2. Remove the ignition key (but keep in hand).
3. Ensure doors, hood, and decklid are closed.
4. Lock the doors with the RKE transmitter or power door lock switch.
5. Observe the VTSS Indicator.
6. The VTSS Indicator will flash rapidly for approximately 15 seconds and then begin to flash
slowly. If the VTSS Indicator is not performing as described, this indicates a system fault. Refer
to symptom list for problems related to THEFT ALARM WILL NOT ARM.
7. Perform a system test on the VTSS by duplicating the original complaint.
8. Disarm the system and with the DRBIII , read DTC's.
9. If the original complaint is corrected and there are no DTC's the repair is complete.
Are any DTC's present or is the original complaint still present?
Yes → Repair is not complete, refer to the appropriate symptom.
→ Repair is complete.
