P0463-FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT VOLTS TOO HIGH —
TEST

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connectors.
Ignition on, engine not running.
Measure the voltage on the (G4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal circuit in the Fuel Pump
harness connector.
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?
Yes → Repair the short to voltage in the (G4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal
No

Turn the ignition off.
Measure the resistance of the (G4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal circuit from the PCM
harness connector to the Fuel Pump Module harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 5
No

Measure the resistance of the (Z2) Sensor ground circuit from the PCM harness
connector to the Fuel Pump Module harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 6
No

NOTE: Before continuing, check the PCM harness connector terminals for
corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Repair as necessary.
Using the schematics as a guide, inspect the wire harness and connectors. Pay
particular attention to all Power and Ground circuits.
If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
ACTION
circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
→ Go To 4
→ Repair the open in the (G4) Fuel Level Sensor Signal circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
→ Repair the open in the (Z2) Sensor ground circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module per Service
Information.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 2.
