Total Access 5000 Business Services Deployment Guide
Remote Loopback Configuration
To configure the unit to respond to (enable) or to ignore (disable) to remote loopback
commands, complete the following steps:
1. From the Enable prompt, type configure terminal , and press E
2. From the Global Configuration prompt, type interface t3 <shelf/slot/port> , and
3. From the T3 Interface Configuration prompt, perform one of the following:

Test Administrative Functions
The Total Access 5000 CLI Application prompt, controls both the local loopback and BERT
functions. While in the Application prompt, the following commands can be issued:
• View the current test status of the DS3 interface by typing show test interface t3
• Clear the test statistics of the DS3 interface by typing test interface t3
• Stop any test in progress (loopback or BERT) by typing no test interface t3
Local Line Loopback Configuration
To configure local DS3 loopbacks, complete the following steps:
1. From the Enable prompt, type application , and press E
2. From the Application prompt, type test interface t3 <shelf/slot/port> local
NOTE
• The loopback timeout is optional and can be left off the loopback command
NOTE
• The DS3 line loopback can be stopped by typing no test interface t3
<shelf/slot/port>
BERT Test Configuration
The Channelized DS3 Multi‐Service 3‐Port performs BERT generation and testing at the DS3
interfaces. To configure the DS3 BERT, complete the following steps:
