Accounting Example
In the following example, level 1 and 15 command accounting is enabled.
Configure Local User Accounts
This section details the following information:
• Create a new user account
• Modify an existing user account
• Delete an existing user account
• Configure the password complexity
Create a New User Account
To create a new local user to the Total Access 5000, complete the following procedure:
1. From the Enable prompt, type configure terminal , and press E
2. From the Global Configuration prompt, type security , and press E
3. From the Security Configuration prompt, type username WORD , and press E
4. From the User Configuration prompt, type password , and press E
5. From the Password Entry prompt, type the password for the user, and press E
6. From the User Configuration prompt, type privilege [admin|config|read-
7. From the User Configuration prompt, type no disable to enable the username.
8. Type end , and press E
Modify an Existing User Account
To modify an existing user account on the Total Access 5000, complete the following
procedure:
1. From the Enable prompt, type configure terminal , and press E
2. From the Global Configuration prompt, type security , and press E
3. From the Security Configuration prompt, type username WORD , and press E
