Remote Terminal (RT) Provisioning

To deploy multiple nodes, complete the following:
• Provision the GigE SM
• Provision the RPR Line Module

Provision the GigE SM

This subsection details the following information:
• Provision the Timing Source
• Provision the Hop Count
Provision the Timing Source
Primary and secondary sources must be configured to receive timing from LoopA and LoopB
where LoopA is the lower numbered (odd or West) RPR Line Module and LoopB is the higher
numbered (even or East) RPR Line Module. To set the timing, complete the following:
1. From the Switch Module menu, select Provisioning , and press E
2. From the Provisioning menu, select Timing , and press E
3. From the Timing menu, select Primary Source , and press E
4. From the Primary Timing Source menu, select Source , and press E
5. From the Source menu, select LoopA , and press E
6. From the LoopA menu, select the appropriate slot, and press E
7. From the Timing menu, select Secondary Source , and press E
8. From the Secondary Timing Source menu, select Source , and press E
9. From the Source menu, select LoopB , and press E
10. From the LoopB menu, select the appropriate slot, and press E

Provision the Hop Count

Hop Count must be enabled. To enable Hop Count, complete the following:
1. From the Switch Module menu, select Provisioning , and press E
2. From the Provisioning menu, select Timing , and press E
3. From the Timing menu, select Hop Count , and press E
4. From the Hop Count menu, select Enabled , and press E

The Primary Source provisions the local input for the primary clock generation.
The Secondary Source provisions the local input for the secondary clock generation.
