Ethernet OAM on the MSAP (Total Access 5000)
To configure Ethernet OAM on the Total Access 5000, complete the following:
1. Enable Ethernet OAM on the Total Access 5000.
2. Create the MD and MA.
3. Create a MIP on a VLAN.
4. Create a MEP on the Total Access 5000.
Enable Ethernet OAM on the Total Access 5000
To enable Ethernet OAM on the Total Access 5000, complete the following:
1. From the Enable prompt, type configure terminal , and press E
2. From the Global Configuration prompt, type ethernet cfm , and press E
Create the Maintenance Domain and Association
To create an MD and association, and to associate a VLAN with the association, complete the
following:
1. From the Enable prompt, type configure terminal , and press E
2. From the Global Configuration prompt, type ethernet cfm domain char-string
3. From the Ethernet OAM Domain Configuration prompt, type association char-
4. From the Ethernet OAM Association Configuration prompt, type component 1 vlan
5. Type exit , then press E
6. Type exit , then press E
