Total Access 5000 Business Services Deployment Guide
Create a MIP on a VLAN
MIPs are created in the default domain per the MIP rules set per VLAN. For a VLAN to be
added to the default domain, the EVC for the VLAN should be created before the following
steps are performed.
Once the VLAN has been added to the default domain, create the MIP by performing the
following steps:
1. From the Global Configuration prompt, type ethernet cfm default-domain to enter
2. From the Ethernet OAM Default Domain Configuration prompt, type component 1
3. From the Ethernet OAM Default Domain Component Configuration prompt, type level
4. Type mip-allowed any to allow MIPs to be created on the VLAN.
NOTE
The MIP is created at the lowest level between the level at which the domain
was created and the default domain level. The example commands above
created the domain at level 6, and the default domain was set to level 4, thus,
the MIP is created at level 4.
MIP Creation Example
The following example displays an additional MIP created on VLAN 200.
