EFM Bonding Protection Module Description

The EFM Protect Access Module provides EFM bonding engine protection for any EFM
SHDSL or DS1 EFM (1187802L1) access module installed in a Total Access 5000 system
beginning with System Release 3.2. These modules must support EFM bonding and have been
cross‐slot provisioned.

Install the EFM Bonding Protection Module

NOTE
ADTRAN recommends installing the EFM Protect Access Module in slot 11
or 21 of the Total Access 5000 chassis.
To install the EFM Protect Access Module, complete the following steps:
1. Pull the ejector latches on the EFM Protect Access Module, located on the upper and
