Provision the Timing Source

To provision the timing source, complete the following:
1. From the Enable prompt, type configure terminal , and press E
2. From the Global Configuration prompt, type system-timing <shelf> , and press
3. From the System‐Timing Configuration prompt, type source primary loop-a
4. From the System‐Timing Configuration prompt, type source secondary loop-b
NOTE
ADTRAN recommends having the primary and secondary timing sources on
different DS3 ports and adjacent redundant slots.

T1 8-Port Line Module Provisioning Defaults

When the T1 8‐Port Line Module is installed in a Total Access 5000 shelf, the SCM queries the
system (local and clustered shelves) to synchronize its database. No user intervention is
required for this process. Provisioning is handled without user entry if Auto‐Provisioning is
enabled. Otherwise, provisioning must be accomplished manually through the SCM menu
system.
Table J‐4 shows the minimum list of factory defaults and values that are loaded after instal‐
lation and self‐test. These defaults and values provide the minimum configuration for turn up
of the T1 8‐Port Line Module.
