Install the steering column covers.

lf necessary. center the cable reel. (New

replacement cable reels come centered.) Do this by

first rotating the cable reel clockwise until it stops.

Then rotate it counterclockwise (approximately

2 1 / 2 t u r n s ) u n t i l t h e a r r o w m a r k o n t h e c a b l e r e e l

label points straight up.

Align the projections on the cable reel with the

holes on the steering wheel, and install the steering

wheel with a new steering wheel bolt (A).

I n s t a l l t h e d r i v e r ' s a i r b a g ( s e e p a g e 2 3 - 1 2 8 ) .

Reconnect the battery negative cable.

After installing the cable reel, confirm proper

system oPeration;

. Turn the ignition switch oN (ll); the sRS indicator

should come on for about 6 seconds and then 9o

. After the SRS indicator has turned off, turn the

steering wheel fully left and rightto confirm the

SRS indicator does nol come on.

. Make sure the horn works.
