1 Platform Description

The Intel Server Platform SR4850HW4 and SR4850HW4/M is a compact, high-density, rack-
mount system with support for one to four Intel
SDRAM memory. The system is based on the Intel
E8500 chipset or the Intel
platform supports Hot-plug PCI-X* and PCI Express* add-in cards; hot-swap, redundant power
supply modules; hot-swap, redundant cooling fans, Hot-plug memory with RAS features, and hot-
swap hard disk drives. The server platform is shown below.
