Always use a new patient circuit when used by a new patient.
Check the patient circuit regularly for damage. In case of damage, replace the circuit
CAUTION!
Appropriate personnel should determine the duration of use for the patient circuit
based on accepted infection control procedures.
7.2

Cleaning and Replacing the Filters

Patient air filters
NOTE
Coarse filter (grey): This is a washable filter, wash the filter at least once a week
and replace once a year. See 7.2.1 Washing a coarse filter, page 159 for washing
instructions.
Fine filer (white): This is a disposable filter that not shall be washed or reused.
Replace the fine filter at least every month, or more frequently when used in high
pollution or pollen-rich environments.
The patient air filters are located in the filter cassette at the side of the ventilator.
1 Turn off the ventilator and place it on a dust free surface.
2 First Place the filters in the air inlet
compartment, with the coarse filter
outside the fine filter.
3 Close the side panel carefully for not displacing the filters while closing. For detailed
information about closing the side panel, see 3.3.1 Detaching and Reattaching the Side Panels,
page 39.
