Stopping the Entire System

This section describes the procedure for stopping the entire system.
Stop the system in either of the following two ways.

Stopping the System With the XSCF Command

Stopping the System From the Operation Panel
Note - Before stopping the system, inform the users that the system will be stopped.
Note - When a physical partition is stopped by the operation of the XSCF command or the
operation panel, all the logical domains on the physical partition are stopped. Stop
applications as required.

Stopping the System With the XSCF Command
Confirm that the mode switch on the operation panel is in Service mode.
1.
Log in to the XSCF shell.
2.
Execute the poweroff command.
3.
Enter "y" in response to the confirmation message.
In the following example, the displayed status of PPAR-ID 00 is "Powering off,"
so you can see that the power-off instruction for the physical partition completed
successfully.
XSCF> poweroff -a
PPAR-IDs to power off:00
Continue? [y|n] : y
00 : Powering off
The following processes are performed.
- Oracle Solaris is completely shut down.
- The system stops and enters the POWERON READY state (The XSCF is running).
