Communications cables are connected to General-purpose Slaves using nor-
mal square connectors.
Use the following procedure to prepare and connect the communications
cables to the connectors. Although some connectors are equipped with set
screws and some are not, the methods used to connect the cables to the con-
nectors are the same.
1. Remove about 30 to 80 mm of the cable covering, being careful not to dam-
age the shield weaving underneath. Do not remove more than necessary;
removing too much of the covering can result in short circuits.
2. Carefully peel back the weaving. You will find the signal lines, power lines,
and the shielding wire. The shielding wire will be loose on the outside of
the other lines, but it is harder than the weaving and should be easily iden-
tified.
